My Summer in Pictures

What can I say? I have not been the best blogger lately. Life has been busy, as usual--work, school, grad assistantship, travel, etc. I think the best way to relaunch my blogging life is through photos.

I did a lot this summer. Goodness, I miss it. Here's a little chronicling of my life over the past few months. Enjoy and expect a more in depth blog soon!

I played outside, blew bubbles & caught fireflies with my sweet niece.

I went to Starkville and saw two of my best friends, Kayla & Lauren.

I picked out a super comfy cocoabeens chair.

Saw NKOTBSB with my sister (who got to meet Danny Wood).

Played tourist in my city with Aunt Barbara.

Saw gorgeous mountains, East High & an impressive fireworks display in Utah/Wyoming with my bff.

Celebrated a sweet girl's second birthday party with Woody, Jessie & Buzz.

Saw my best friend, Amanda, get married to a wonderful guy.

Clearly, I am one blessed girl with the best family, friends and bosses! God is great!

Simply,

Court

P.S., I realize that I need more pics of my lovely parents! Let's just say that they make my life lovely year round with everything they do for me!

Summer Lovin'

Summer always brings about new things to love. That's part of the reason why I love summer -- we won't talk about the heat, thunderstorms and humidity.

So, here's a few things that you should consider loving this summer.

1. The Help by Kathryn Stockett

I've heard wonderful reviews from co-workers and friends about this book written by a Mississippian. I haven't purchased it yet, but it is available on Kathryn Stockett's Web site and Amazon.com.

Here's an excerpt from the synopsis from the author's Web site:

"In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women--mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends--view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't." (copyright Kathryn Stockett)

2. Nike Free Run shoes

I'm trying to start running (definitely at a slow pace) and I need new shoes. Hopefully I'll be purchasing some of these from Hibbett Sports/The Nike Store soon. I'm trying to be healthy and happy and my New Balance shoes from Freshman year are not cutting it anymore. No offense to them -- I love those shoes.

3. Life is Good Nalgene Water Bottle

My sister & I bought two of these at Dick's Sporting Goods this weekend (buy one, get one 1/2 off). I love love love it. And, I've consumed more water in the past 4 days than I have in a while. Now, I am going to pat myself on the back!

4. Stacy's Pita Chips & Sabra Hummus

This is the best snack of the summer! You can buy both items at Walmart and Kroger in Starkville and Corinth, but I'm sure they are available at Publix and Target elsewhere. My suggestions: try the garlic hummus with simply plain pita chips.

5. The Bible

I found this one at Lifeway.com under the Women's section. You may not have to buy a new Bible to love it this summer -- I didn't. I've always studied out of my Teen Extreme Study Bible from the 9th grade and I don't plan on changing things up soon. I learn so much from that bible and the highlights I've made in it. I put The Bible on my list of summer loves because I don't need the aforementioned items. I simply want them. I need The Bible. So if you want to love any of my suggestions this summer, I urge you to choose this one first.

Then check out the others! Everyone should reward themselves sometimes - whether it be through reading your favorite scripture or buying a super cute water bottle.

Simply,

Court
