I wrote this in January and I wanted to share it with my friends outside of Facebook. So, enjoy!
My mother has a way of speaking to me every Sunday morning without using her own words, whether she means to or not. Through her piano, she plays hymns that touch my soul and lift me up. I know that God is speaking through my mother and her piano, and it is an incredible feeling.
Lately, I've been concerned about my future (life after college). I've conversed with my mom and dad a lot this weekend about jobs, moving away, moving home, etc, etc. They always tell me it will all work out. Their words are repetitive but amazingly uplifting.
"Courtney, it will work out. It always does for you."
This morning, she played this song. It had been a while since we sang it. Sometimes I wonder if she does this purposefully. One day, I'll ask her. Until then, I know to listen to the hymns from church and the words from my parents.
God will take care of me. He has a plan. I have to trust in Him completely.
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." -- Proverbs 3:5,6
God Will Take Care of You
~ Civilla D. Martin, 1869-1948
Be not dismayed whate'er betide,
God will take care of you;
Beneath His wings of love abide,
God will take care of you.
God will take care of you,
Thru ev'ry day, O'er all the way;
He will take care of you,
God will take care of you.
Thru days of toil when heart doth fail,
God will take care of you;
When dangers fierce your path assail,
God will take care of you.
All you may need He will provide,
God will take care of you;
Nothing you ask will be denied,
God will take care of you.
No matter what may be the test,
God will take care of you;
Lean, weary one, upon His breast,
God will take care of you.
These words are applicable in all situations (not just Courtney's life after college) and its a calming feeling to know that God will take care of you.
