I Think I Need A Tissue

In my last post I promised that photos would be posted soon of my do-it-yourself party planning. I'm diligently working to get the prep work for Olivia's 1st birthday finished before it stresses us out at the last minute. Originally, I planned to order a lot of the decoration from Oriental Trading and other sites, but I soon realized that myself, my sister and my dad could do most of it ourselves (with a little help from Martha of course).

Instead of using paper lanterns, I decided that tissue pom poms would be better, cheaper, and quicker. My inspiration came from marthastewart.com and her 4-step how-to guide was so helpful. Click HERE to see the how-to guide.

Below is the introduction photo.

Tonight, I made my very first pom pom. You can purchase the tissue paper very cheaply at The Dollar Tree, Wal-Mart, or wherever you prefer (I am on a budget). The floral wire is in the craft or floral section at Wal-Mart. I purchased the Design It Floral Wire (it's white with measurements of 18 inches).

So here's my first tissue paper pom pom. I'm proud.

Now, I get to make many more before July! Let the pom pom fun begin.

Simply,

Court
